Great article Wilson!

It’s such a shame that VFF has been enhanced to Qantas’ level. With the recent points devaluation and the ongoing carrier surcharges for select Airlines, Velocity has lost much of its edge. Perhaps we just had it too good for too long, and Nick Rorlach and Co. knew it.

The worst of these surcharges is still half of what QFF are paying for Emirates J & F awards.

And a lot of people seem to absolutely over the moon to pay "just" $1800 in "taxes" on a one way from Australia to Europe.

Thank you! Will note it's an update of Matt's old article to reflect the changes Velocity announced last year (so I can only take some of the credit) :D

“Just $1800” is still pretty good when it’s a ticket worth $10k plus if you had to pay for it.
Of course it would be nice to pay only a couple of hundred bucks it is what it is

Every time someone comes out and says this carrier surcharges go up again.
