(A follow-on from Bertair's problems with a Doha stopover with QATAR.)
As I said in a previous thread, I had been watching the allowable dates for the "subsidised" stopovers offered by QR in Doha. Once the the dates were extended to the end of 2018 I booked a hotel for 2 nights/2 people for $100 US - Marriott Marquis. The booking went through and I got a confirmation e-mail and my CC was charged.
A day later I got e-mail from "Discover Qatar Support" saying that they had "carefully examined" my booking and flights and the dates were incorrect therefore the booking was cancelled. I hurriedly rechecked everything and all the dates I used were actually correct. So, I wrote and asked what was going on as their advice made no sense. I received no response to this query.
After another 5 days I again wrote stating again that there was no discrepancy in the booking dates, that my CC payment for the booking had not been reversed and could they please explain what was going on. I fully expected to have to try and get a chargeback for the CC payment and book another hotel in Doha.
24 hours later I got a message that simply said my booking had been re-instated, with no explanations or apologies.
