Hi I'm Tim and travel alot for work.

I'll reach 995 status credits with Velocity next week and was wondering if Velocity will upgrade me to platinum status given that I'm 5 SCs off the 1000. Has anyone experienced this before?

Welcome, it's very likely you'll automatically be upgraded.

Generally the day after you reach 995 SCs the system will give you a status review. It happened the other day for me. Be sure to let us know what happens.

Ok guys I had to ring up and very nicely ask for the upgrade and it did seem like a border line decision for the lady assisting me. However as a goodwill gesture because I fly so much with them etc. they did indeed upgrade me to platinum. It has been about a half hour call though...totally worth it. It's likely I would have reached the full 1000 within the next month anyways, but it's done now.
