Hi gang,

I've stumbled across this site in the last few months and become quite addicted, especially to the 'Ask a pilot' thread.
In the meantime I've moved into a position at work that will give me a long haul international trip every couple of months, so I'm finding more and more of use here. I should make gold this year which I find quite exciting.

I'm currently looking into whether it's worth getting a credit card that can help accrue QFF points. I only spend a grand or two a month on the credit card so I think it would have to be something with a very low annual fee to be worthwhile.

Anyway, thanks for all the good tips!

Welcome to AFF!

As an example, an Everyday Rewards MC will get you 1 QFF point per $1 spent. So at $1500 per month that adds up to 18K points in a year . Plus bonus points. $89 annual fee.

There are also offers for bonus points, or waiving the first year annual fee, depending on when you apply. Free QFF membership is included.

Status and miles collecting becomes addictive :D

Welcom to AFF!

Thanks for the welcome =)

ozmille: Yeh it sure does, it's a bit of a worry when you're more excited about getting a bit closer to the next status level than seeing some new city.

I think the CC is down to
everyday rewards - cheap but only 5000 bonus points (and that ends tonight)
hsbc platinum - bit expensive but 20,000 points and 2 QP passes (I could skip joining QP and those 2 plus 2 others I have could carry me over until gold)
Qantas CU - does working at maccas as a teen count as the hospitality industry? ;)
