First post - long time QFF - but starting to wonder if my loyalty has been misplaced! just slipped back to lifetime sliver (which is fine given i haven't been travelling) but the annoying added 'bonus' was the extension my Qantas Club for 3 measly months... come on guys!

anyone else experienced this? this also came shortly after they sent me a card for a completely different person, and the gutting of my once valuable points.

Virgin here i come!

Welcome!

I don't understand the bit about a 3 months extension to your QP membership. Was this a 'bonus' or was it the remaining time on your membership after you had 'included' membership on your higher status level and your paid membership suspended?

in the message to me it was stated as a bonus for my loyalty. i have been platinum for almost 10 years, and have even had this status extended for a year when i didn't meet the criteria - so the extra 3 months felt a little week. especially given i have a family holiday to Europe booked for April (and the extension ran until Feb)

I haven't heard of the 3 months QP m'ship for 'loyalty' (when coming of the Plat plateau) before. Like you, I'd be interested to hear if its common or not. Unless others have better experiences I'd be tending to think 3 months wasn't bad, especially if a surprise.

Being comped a plat year when you don't meet the criteria is fairly common to me (happened to me a while back).

Welcome to AFF Christian Edwards!

Just out of curiosity I would love to know how many months complimentary lounge membership does Virgin give you when you fall from Gold?

When you go from Gold to Silver you get 3 months complimentary QP membership.

Welcome aboard Christian Edwards. Hope all goes well at Virgin. I'm sure you realise that they don't have life time status so once you drop down you're a nothing.

I'm glad QFF has lifetime status. When I'm in my dotage and can't afford to travel as much it will be nice to have LTG and be given a reward for many years of loyal flying.

10 yrs Platinum... you really can't be that far from LTG. I'd be staying with QF and aiming for that.

Common as muck. SWMBO got it when she dropped from SG>PS a few years ago now.

Good advice there! At a minimum 10 years of Plat would be 12,200SC and that's assuming you didn't earn a SC above 1,400 x 1 and 1,200 x 9
