Hi there.

I am just joining up as I have never actually had an FF program in place and I figure it's past time (36) I did something about that.
Referred to the site by a long-standing member, who has pointed me in the direction of the Amex Velocity 110,000 card offer.
So I will check the forums to hopefully find a decent referral link.

Thanks,
G

I think you need 20 posts to do private messages so ask questions....

Some of our staff are doing referrals on the Amex Velocity to try to get to 311,500 points by 30/09.

Managed to apply through a referral link hosted by Smit0847. So a shout out to him. Can anyone shed any light on how long the application process takes? Assuming a few business days at the very least.
Also I can't seem to post replies in any other threads, which I am going to guess is more to do with the newness of my profile.
I may have to spam this thread with questions until I get better privileges.

Ok I need to ask the most obvious of obviously silly questions.
Now that I have applied for the Amex card, do I need to set up a Virgin Velocity account myself?
Or will that be sorted as part of the card process?
I am going to guess the former.
Hopefully someone can give me an answer.

Between Amex and Velocity I believe they will do it for you. Once your card arrives just spend $1,000 on stuff you were going to buy anyway and the 110,000 points will turn up.
I did not qualify for this promo as I already had the card. The "free" trip from Perth to Sydney or Adelaide and back may encourage you to keep the card when it is renewal time. I think there is a trip to the north west and back which could be Broome I think.
With 110,000 points you can do at least 6 one ways coast to coast and the fuel fee surcharge is currently something like $18 which you can pay on that card.
Enjoy the flights you will be earning.

Just been emailed to say I was approved and the card is on its way :)
Giddyup!

Well that's great. Figure out the referral thingy down the bottom of your computer log in and you will find a referral tab. You have about 10 clear days to consult, coerce and or assault your work colleagues to get 10 lots of 20,000 points under the referral system. That would mean your conversion from a non AFFer to half way would be looking very good after 8 posts.
Of course I jest with that word assault.
I did one application for an AFFer by getting his drivers licence. When it was submitted......60 seconds later it was a Yes. Even my sister in law is onboard.

Good times. Cards have arrived and I have set up my referral link.
Which I can't actually post in the referral offers thread due to what I assume are post count requirements.
I won't anger the forum gods by posting it here though.
I will say thanks to cove and halogen for their assistance however.
Working out the Velocity account info now.
