Nice photos. Berlin is one of my favourite big cities - not "pretty" but a fascinating place and surprisingly cheap.

It is cheap as it has so much accommodation post cold-war which has seen it become the capital for European "non-workers".

Berlin has, for a long time, attracted "different" types of people - Weimar Republic era avante-garde artists (movie, literature, painting etc) and West German draft dodgers among others over the last 100 years. It seems to be continuing on in that way. As my German friend says it is "where the bear dances". Which is apparently an old German saying meaning it is the spot where life is exciting.

Totally in favour of bear dancing.
