Hi Guys

In a tough situation at the moment. I have a high range DUI charge along with negligent driving that I got into last week. No bodily harm done to anyone and the cars are repairable.

I have an interview lined up with the consulate next week. Any idea if I will get the visa or things that I can take with me to help with getting one

I already had the flights booked since April this year and the hotels as well

Given that no advice given here will be definitive, my suggestion is to read through related threads in this forum. There are a number of similar questions and experiences that I recall and you should get a feel for the way the cards may fall.

Get a copy of your (presumably safe, up to now) driving record from your local authority and some written glowing references and take these with you. Also your police record (I have no idea how to do this, but it shouldn't be hard thee days).

Most of the sites that provide police records do it for employers etc, can't find one in specific for visa purposes

I wasnt talking about specific to visa, just your 'record' ( again on the assumption that you were OK till now.). It's your record, so you must ( should) be able to see it! If you say what state you are in, someone may have a suggestion.

You haven't mentioned the country you're having an interview for. Is it the USA? If so the fact you're having an interview would suggest a prior criminal history? This incident might be viewed as not having been completely rehabilitated.

Or is it another country?

If you want to enter Canada then you will have trouble with a high level DUI like for ever.

Yeah the visa is for a visit to Hawaii for a 2 weeks family holiday. I went to the consulate and they have asked me to go see one of their preferred physicians in Sydney. I guess depending on the recommendation from the physician will determine if i get a visa or not

Any idea what to expect when I see the physicians. Its only for a B2 visa and I will be back in 2 weeks
