Overnight my QF membership status has been elevated to Platinum. I am travelling twice today with Cathay Pacific, MNL-HKG and HKG-CNS-BNE and my online check-in with Cathay Pacific has produced boarding passes that still show my status as QF Gold. I am eligible to use the Cathay Pacific first class lounge in HK at platinum status. How can I get my status recognised for today's travel?

I've tried taking out the QF number, switching to my AA number, and then changing back, but it either reports "site error" or it still appears as QF Gold on the boarding pass.

Any ideas?

When you get to the airport, ask them to completely remove your QF number, and then add it back it. That often fixes the problem.

Alternatively print a copy of your QF account.

If that doesnt work and the remove/add doesnt work then at HKG go to the QF F lounge...

As simongr mentioned print out your QFF account with the new status showing.

If this is not good enough for the CX lounge agents then they should be able to contact QF and confirm your new status.

If you dont have access to a printer then "print" to pdf and email that to some form of compatible device. Then show them the device (or log into the said device at the lounge door)...

Cx are generally pretty good to platinums so best get that newly minted wp status in there asap :)

Update. Checked in for MNL-HKG. Tried both at check-in and Cathay lounge, both claim to have re-entered my QF and showed me on screen that it still reports only as Sapphire. Seems my status is up to date only within QF. Aaaagghh.

Showed my printed QF statement - made no difference.

Not the first time this has happenned to me with OneWorld. Reached AA Plat a few years back but at Qantas check-in 2 weeks later at JFK found system still had me as AA Gold - couldn't even access the lounge, and got back row seats with all the screaming babies.

That's really interesting. I made WP on a flight back to BKK with BA.

I flew out 2 weeks later and approached the BA lounge to gain access - explaining that I'd only just attained Emerald. She took me to the computer area and set me up for printing out a copy of my QFF page. Once done, I dropped it back to the desk for her to check and she happily waved me through.

Will try again at HKG - maybe Manila only connects to the outisde world once a day !!

No go in HK either. Seems the QF and Cathay systems only talk to each other sporadically.

Took simongr's advice and enjoyed the Qantas first lounge instead. Coopers Original Pale Ale and Haagen-Dazs macadamia nut icecream made it a great choice !!

I hit WP on a LHR-SIN flight and connected into HKG a few hours later.

The CX system didn't update but the nice man at the front desk of The Wing let me in after I politely explained the situation to him.
