Well after mapping out my year in SCs to keep Gold by August a family member has gifted me a gold membership after earning themselves 2400 SCs this year. I guess that allows me to focus on keeping my Virgin Gold Velocity membership up now!

How silly is that! They could have had 50,000 QFF points.

Having accrued 2400 SCs in under a year I think 50,000 FF points would have been negligible!

Not really - depends what kind of flying they do.

I just went through the 2,400 SC mark in my QF year (only just, my anniversary is the end of this month ). Most of my flights are short hop domestic flex Y tickets, which earn 20 SCs and 1,000pts each, so for those 2,400 SCs I only earn 120,000 pts.
