We just caught the train in everywhere, but kept that in mind when booking our accommodation. Places like Hong Kong the train is so easy, and in Milan the airport is so far away other transfers cost a pretty penny and take a similar amount of time.
Try not to dread it! Holidaying is just parenting in a different location
