Just came back from Manila in J.

Preodered a gluten free meal for my wife. Chicken sandwich for dinner.

Surely QF is making enough to do a bit better than that.

Seems that the are pinching pennies everywhere. Not looking after FF with the redemption program.

I for one will be using QTR. SIN CX much more from now. At least I can use points at a reasonable price with good availabilty.

As far as the gluten free goes, why offer it they are not serious!!

My brother was offered the gluten free meal request on a QF domestic whY flight... an apple! Mind you the carrot and celery sticks without the salsa (possible gluten) may have been more palatable with the nasty bottle of wine!

Did someone say cheap?

Ooh roo

QA, EK and BA J are very good, not much variation to my wifes. CX was very average the one time I went with them, in fact worse the QF. Even QF economy had more flavour.

Though as stated above, if your wife is a celiac, travel with caution.

What's offered for special meals is I suspect dictated by the catering at the departure airport.

Suspect you would get better options at SYD rather than MNL, and it would be a similar offering across any airline..

Ie. The airline mostly sets the menu for regular meals, but are choosing from a set of standard special meals offered by the caterer.
