Hi everyone,
just a quick one.. For those that fly out of the GC. Normally i fly out of BNE, but got a day trip tomorrow, and thought you know what, i think i am going to do the GC departure.
I know there is no lounge, but i am flying just before 8, so will show up as late as possible..
Is there priority queues/screening etc. Last time i think there was a priority checkin but no priority screening?
Just curious if there is.. And if not how long does it normally take to get through at say 7:30 in the morning??

Thanx

There are no priority lanes, its a common use terminal so gates and screening are used by all users.

I have caught the 8AM to SYD several times and it usually takes me about 1 to 2 minutes for security.

Virgin has almost no facilities at OOL (Australia's most horrible and noisy major airport) except for priority check-in which is at the far far far end of the terminal, about 400 metres walk from the security area. :!::lol:

I've never had a problem with OOL security, the worst wait I've ever copped is around 20mins, usually on a Friday morning when you have 2 A330 flights and a handful of domestic flights departing within an hour.

You obviously haven't been to too many airports if you think OOL is "Australia's most horrible and noisy airports". Trust me it's not that bad compared to Emerald, Kalgoorlie & Nhulunbuy just to name a few. (no offence to those towns as I love all locations)

+1 I have no problems with OOL to be honest. For a city like the Gold Coast, the airport is pretty good. Sure it dosen't have any aero bridges. But the terminal is quite open and airy. It's size means it's easy to get in and out. I'd take it over BNE anyday.

I said "major" airport, please read my original comment again. I do not count those you have mentioned as major airports. BTW I have been to Nhulunbuy many times and it is now a lovely little airport since the new terminal was built 5 years ago.
