This FF caper can get addictive!

I've just hit silver at the start of June after starting with red in October last year. Currently, I'm on 315 SC.

I've got a couple of return trips coming up in J (SYD - OOL next week & SYD - MEL in August, for my birthday week).

If I have my brain on the right page, I need to upgrade to gold before October and/or I've got until June next year to maintain silver (won't be a problem).

With the trips above that I have booked, I'll hit 475 SC (if my figures are correct) by the time I get back to SYD from MEL. So I'll have 25 SC to go.

I'm prepared to go for a status run on my birthday ex MEL (spending my birthday in the sky sounds awesome) so where should I go for the day to get the 25SC? I had in mind a trip MEL - CBR - SYD - HBA - MEL so even in discount Y, I should get the 25SC needed. Who needs to leave the airport in CBR, SYD (I live in SYD) or HBA anyway, right? LOL.

As an alternative, I was thinking MEL - PER day return which should give me 40 SC, even in Saver.

I don't have points to play with & I want to hit gold before I fly out for my Circle Pacific fare late December/early January (that's another story!). Apart from what I've listed above, I don't have any plans to fly Oct - Dec.

I should mention that I found the MEL - CBR - SYD - HBA - MEL flight on Skyscanner. According to them, it's only available on the web via Skytours & by phone with VA. This routing doesn't appear on the VA website - only direct flights & flights via Sydney appear.

The flights I mentioned have disappeared. So instead I'm doing a day trip MEL - DRW - MEL.
