The gold medal rate appears to have expired, what rates are people using for stays around Australia?

I'm not sure what rate you are referring to as I've not personally heard of the "gold medal" rate.

Most places will have a AAA rate which gives decent prices or Govt rate if you are eligible for that.

There used to be a usa gold medal rate that was 15% off with an excellent cancellation policy (cancel any time up until 4pm on the day of booking). Just found out on flyer talk that this rate expired end of jan 2015.

fyi: Hilton

EDIT: I believe the AAA rate is only a mere 10% and the gold medal rate worked on any of the Hilton brands, guaranteeing a minimum of 15% off.

Haven't found a replacement yet, hopefully something surfaces. I have a few hilton stays coming up next few months.

Found out about this too late of course! I'd heard of it, but thought it was for Nth American properties only. Bugger!

What a shame. Gold medal rate served me well when MVP or Govt was not accepted. Never asked for any type of proof.
