Hi all, if this is in the wrong area apologies. I took out Gold Membership on AFF around 2 months ago and received an email from paypal confirming they have sent AFF the payment.

Is that it or was I to expect an email from AFF acknowleging payment and membership? I have heard nothing ???

Hi Maverick116,

If your Gold membership payment was via PayPal and was processed automatically you will not get another notification. Your Gold Membership started on April 4th.

The big difference you will notice though is the lack of ads on the web site and availability to several threads that are for Gold members only. See Gold Membership Privileges.

Depending upon what you use these are worth considerably more than the Gold Membership cost. IMHO the deletion of ads alone is worth the membership cost.

I did use the discount for Expert Flyer and am now looking at the insurance too (no thanks to Amex).

Thanks for the replies. Its not about the value of the Gold membership that is my quiry, its just common when one joins a group as a financial member to have an email from the site confirming such. The fact that AFF have confirmed this now is great. Again thanks for all the replies.

I recently became a Gold member. I'd forgotten about the ads until i read your comment!
