July 2010, flew from Sydney to London on Finnair. I knew there would be issues because I could not get boarding passes for the whole journey - so no baggage in London. Went to the handling desk - which is British Airways. Instant £165 for immediate needs and bags will be located and sent to my hotel. They explained 'this is a benefit of Club Class' - who am I to argue. The two economy backpackers who were also on the flight were not too impressed when they get nothing.

Bags arrived the next day, I was able to track the progress on-line. Top job BA. What I don't understand is why my claim was eventually settled by BA and not Finnair!

Welcome to AFF, maybe BA charge Finnair for the service?

A couple of years ago QF left my luggage in MEL on the way to LHR in J (Long story - should have been in W)

65 pounds more or less on the spot. Picked up the bag at the airport the next day as I checked in for the flight to the USA. Vino was still intact.:mrgreen: The people guesting me overnight were pleased to see it.
