Congrats VA - a great improvement. Still more steps to go - would be nice to see them crack the top 10.

Wow! Congrats Virgin! Thats fantastic news. Surely top 10 next year?

Some stats:

- Best rated Australian airline
- 3rd most improved airline in the world (China Eastern must have been pretty bad to be the most improved!!0
- Best airline in AU/Pacific region
- Best service and staff in AU/Pacific region
- Best economy class in AU/Pacific
- Best IFE in AU/Pacific (assume this is only judged on their 777?!)

Credit where credit is due - QF won worlds best Y+ product. Apart from the price they charge for it I think this is a very deserved winner. Ditto world best flagship F Lounge which they also won.

Interesting to see Virgin America so low - IMO they are what VA should be.

I'm pretty skeptical of Skytrax... however does clearly catch genuine improvement over the last few years.

I can see Emirates won the best IFE, but can’t see a spot to see by region… either way I can’t understand how they could possibly win best IFE?

Good jump from 32 though!

Agreed - Having just stepped off their A380 IFE offering I call the biggest BS on this award too by Emirates. Skytrax remains in the 'who cares' bucket for me!!

Totally unscientific survey. It may indeed show that Virgin has made genuine improvement (and I don't for one minute doubt it) but in this type of survey it could equally mean all Virgin employees were encouraged to vote (and I do doubt that).

Without proper sampling technique and voter qualification verification, these surveys are effectively meaningless.

Great news for Virgin and for people around the world who haven't heard about them before.

But I also am not a fan of Skytrax and whatever their so called surveys report.
