I've had a huge year with QF, first time SG then first time WP thanks to a DSC offer. My year finishes on the 30th November with 1965 SC's. Probably the most I will ever get in a year but who knows ? So far enjoying the perks of WP, seat selection, lounge access, etc. I will enjoy that for a year at least then see where my work takes me.

I would take the shortest flight you can anywhere to get the 8,000 points for the 500 SC's you will earn if you tip over the 2,000 mark.

Take your wife to lunch somewhere "because you love her" and " by the way dear we will get 8,000 FF points too"

Well done on your biggest year ever!

It is bizarre how you do feel compelled to say goodbye to really just a bunch of numbers. I said farewell to 3550, almost double by previous best year (helped by DSC & cheap BA F RGN fares) and no my account reads 0 SC's... Considering I'm about to start an adventure through Asia to USA, I'll be back at 800+ in two weeks!

Concratulations on your biggest year - I'd till be looking for those 35 more ... a bit tough from PER though.

One get's used to 'saying goodbye' - 18 days ago I said so to 2050 SC's which while more than last year, is lower than that for any of my previous five years - those 2050 still represent ~8% of my Paper Statement's Lifetime SC total.

Never fear - if you read my recent trip report, you would not be surprised to know that I have garnered over 1100 more since then. :D

For those who haven't figured it Serfty is really out there.
One minute he is in Los Angeles then "Hey is that a plane I could board ?"

Rarely spur of the moment!

It's more like "hey, look November 6th 2013 - I might be able to book that ... ", or, "What gate does that Flight I booked Last December depart from?"

[/OT]

Yes that is a pretty good idea Serfty for travelling on Qantas. I do try to do that once a year as Mrscove is a shareholder from Day One.

I don't think about it as goodbye but a transfer to the long term account as LTG gets close to becoming a reality.

The thread title threw me off.

Here I was thinking Qantas was doing away with SCs. :(
