Got 15% discount via amex at mariott bkk?

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

But today i paid for a meal using my cba issued amex card and it got 15% discount at the mariott bangkok


Can anyone tell me why? As if this 15% is applicable more widely it will definitely affect my spendijg habits! !!!

Many places in Thailand offer 15% discount for paying by Amex.

The Londoner pub on Sukhumvit was a favourite with 15% discount on food and drinks.

That would be great

15% is big and i would choose some hotels over others for that sort of discount

However i would assume rack rate as opposed to expedia type of sites
