Extract of letter to Avis
I went to Burnie Airport office last week and organised a one way rental from Burnie Airport to Launceston airport for pick up today. Your CSR Daniel had advised me by phone a few days ago that the only vehicle available would be a delivery van for around $125 – I was OK with that.
I have done this several times in past years and Carol or Diane? have been able to sort this out as I know it is a busy time of the year.
Today my friend drove me from Burnie to your Wynyard branch to collect the vehicle. Upon arrival Daniel advised he was just trying to call me. He had been told by the Sate Manager, Graham? that he wanted the delivery van for another customer but I could have a 4x4 pick up truck - which I was also OK with as I only needed it for a couple pf hours.
Daniel then advised that Graham had ordered him to quote a much higher figure ($175??) plus I was to be charged for excess kilometres resulting in a price well over $200.
I have been a Wizard customer for over 25 years and have never been treated like this by Avis in all those years. I used to be a heavy user but not so in recent years – just a loyal customer. How can an idiot like Graham become a State Manager? All he had to do was provide the vehicle at that same rate and I would be now very happy instead of extremely angry. He broke the verbal agreement I had with Avis, downgraded the vehicle then tried to rip me off for another $100 - what sort of management training do you provide?
So he lost today’s way rental and another on our way back in three weeks’ time plus Avis NSW lost a 12 day rental on our holiday.
Graham the Greedy should be fired as he doesn't fit into the service industry!
