too often we only share bad experiences so i thought i'd share what i feel is some great service from aadvantage.

My brother made a booking for me last year and a time change must have recently happened.

Luckily the change occurred as this lead me to pick up the staff had got my first name slightly wrong as a jeffery rather than jeffrey.

Was happy the staff allowed me to redo the booking rather than forcing my brother to handle it all. they did have to change the second leg of the flight to being a bit earlier so no Doha day tour for me, but everything was sorted out in like 10 minutes, and I had 0 waiting time to speak to someone.

i suppose it was luck that QR had some F seats available on the same day.

Hi Jeffrey, can you tell me what phone number did you call?

Hi Jeffrey, can you tell me what phone number did you call?

I called the Aussie number 02-9101-1948

Think at the time I called (around midnight) it was directed to the USA

The staff were extremely easy to deal with. Great that I only had to explain the issue once and it was sorted out quickly.

I've found common misspellings of Christian names not an issue. (Jon not John or Stewart nor Stuart)

Yes the AA reservation people are aware of the issues caused by the automated re-scheduling done after the schedule changes.
My glitch was the combination of an AA award ticket for Mrs WF in conjunction with my DONE4 and the resulting misconnects....

Why were only the AA RTW desk able to see the solution?

Happy wandering

Fred

May not be an issue in terms of actually being allowed to board, but can have issues with matching the 'exact name' for FF purposes. QF for example won't allow the number to be associated with the booking unless they exactly match. This can have implications for priority check-in, additional free bags, seat selection (etc).
