Greetings! I've been a member of this forum since 2018, although I have never posted before. I realise there is so much to learn from participating. So, I wanted to take a moment to say hi to everyone!
When it comes to traveling, I consider myself a budget-conscious traveller who exclusively flies in Economy class. Typically, I take 1-2 return trips per year, although I'll need to adjust my travel habits to maintain my Qantas status.
Back in 2017, I managed to achieve *A Gold status with Asiana Airlines (OZ) by flying with SQ.
Obtaining OZ *G is often regarded as one of the easiest *G statuses to achieve, requiring only a 24-month qualifying period. I must say that OZ has been quite generous in extending their membership year, and the most recent extension occurred in May 2023, stretching it into 2024. However, as they say, all good things must come to an end, especially considering the impending merger between Korean Air and OZ.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I status-matched to Qantas Gold.
Fortunately, this was extended throughout the lockdown. Now, my focus will be on maintaining the OW Sapphire status by taking advantage of DSC trans-Tasman flights (albeit in Business). I'm locked in for 2023-2024 thanks to the recent DSC promotion!
Usually going between these ports: MEL/AKL/HKG/SIN/TPE/HND/NRT.
