It appears these are the two HH options at Gatwick.

Can anyone comment on why I would prefer one over the other (will be staying as a diamond)? Seems Hilton is a bit cheaper than the Hampton option.

Plan is to take the train to the airport the evening before an early morning departure. So really a bed for the night and dinner.

Edit: I should add departing on BA which I believe uses the north terminal.

The Hilton exec lounge would sway it for me, as a diamond you get access for evening drinks/canapés and breakfast. (Hamptons are more akin to a Holiday Inn Express .)

Would definitely go Hilton over Hampton. Hilton is very easy undercover Walk to the South Station, then easy transfer to North.

As Gold last year got a room in the new wing which was quite nice, remainder of hotel looks very dated. Didn't get access to Exec lounge but passing it, it looked small.

If departing early morning with from north terminal (I think BA are there for now, but moving in January to south terminal) I'd recommend Hampton. When we stayed there (flying Vueling admittedly) it was nice to wake up, check in for our flights and then go back to hotel for breakfast and checkout, as the hotel is right at the terminal. Extra sleep always helps!
