Two months ago I asked a similar question. On red e-deals was only able to upgrade one leg of a four leg trip.... This time on a flex fare the same thing.. I am able to upgrade one leg only, subsequent legs of travel come up with the message.
[h=1]Domestic Upgrade seat not available[/h] No upgrade seat is available at this time.
Please try again later.
Request another upgrade

Though there are at least 9 seats available, travel in 7 days. What's the deal? anybody else experienced this?

Regards,

Pvc

RedRoo can you answer?

When you say there are at least 9 seats available are those U fares? Or something like J/D? Domestic upgrades are only confirmed if U is available. Otherwise, you get the error message you mentioned.

Just going by what is available to buy as a J flight on the website! can't imagine why the loading is different when the upgrade is available for a 738, 12 seats/flight, whereas a 763/30 seats availability is less.. QF925 11th October 19:35pm as the example. I don't have the ticket class breakdown I'm sorry.

QF 925 CNS-SYD 11 Oct 12:10 departure, has J9, D9 and I4 but no U. So there are business seats but no business award seats hence no upgrades.

This is from expert flyer. I'm not sure if there is a free tool to check fare class availability. Maybe someone else can advise. Otherwise, there is a sticky thread on AFF to ask people to check for availability.

Here is a link to the other thread

As all the U inventory is gone (hence why you can't upgrade) best bet is to try for a ODU from either the check in kiosk or the Qantas Club.

As has been pointed out, th fare buckets are important when trying to UG.

I've successfully upgraded multiple legs (eg. BNE-SYD-HBA) on occasion. There was some jumping in and out requesting waiting for fare buckets to open up. You also have more chance further out from the flight.

You can also try for an ODU if you are QP/GOLD or above if you are unsuccessful in advance.

Thanks all for the response and checks, will try an ODU!

Again Thank you!
