We had a 1 night stay here at the beginning of our trip. There are no cars in the old town so Mrs B & the bags had a rickshaw ride (on the hotel rickshaw) while our driver Magan & I had a walk to the hotel
After a ride up in the small lift, just big enough for 3 people & our 2 bags we arrived at our big room. It had a hard but comfortable bed on a marble base, good shower with plenty of hot water & nice complimentary toiletries. An air conditioner was available but not needed and we also had the option of a fan. A flat screen TV was in the room and wi-fi internet was available with good speed for approx $2.
This heritage hotel had exotic furnishings and balconies overlooking Ganges where you could sit and not have a drink (all of Haridwar is meat, egg and alcohol free). It had a lovely atmosphere with a small temple in the middle of the hotel. The fireworks went off most of the night because of the holiday and Dewali celebrations. The staff were pleasant, fairly shy but very attentive (we need to get used to people hovering to give super service). Our dinner at the hotel was a buffet - no choice tonight but vegetarian food at it’s finest & we indeed enjoyed it. Our night was then an 11hr sleep so obviously we need it! Breakfast was a good spread of fruit, toast, tea/coffee, cornflakes, Indian options & freshly made banana pancakes (no egg options available in the hotel). Spacious, clean, good hot water, toiletries providedBig comfortable bed on a marble basePlenty of room to moveBalcony over the Ganges The walkway out to the street
