Hey Folks,

So, I have just recently turned Silver, and have a *lot* of travel booked over the coming 3 months.

However, from looking at my account status, it would appear that my calendar year expires on May 31st. Does this mean that none of the SC's earned between now and May 31st will count toward my Gold accrual? The bulk of my travel is going to be in June / July, but I should still be earning 150+ SC's between now and end of May which would be a bummer to loose.

Congrats on attaining Silver. Any SCs earnt between now and the end of your membership year will only count for that year and your lifetime count.

So from 01 June you will start again on the quest to SG and maybe even WP :).

It’s reminiscent of Robert the Bruce watching the spider which manages each time to only climb so far before falling back down and having to start again.

It inspired RB but for me ‘frustrating’ sums it up better :)

If you'll be earning more than 150 SCs before the end of May, and you only need 400 SCs to get to gold, why not trying to maximise your earning and go for Gold before the end of May. Maybe if you change one/some of your bookings to business it might push you over the edge?

Upgrade some flights and try to fir in a HBA express which should tick you over.

It's also good in that once you qualify for Gold it's 'only' 600 SCs to re-qualify rather than 700. I only just made it on the last day for Gold last year but with 100 fewer SCs to attain it looks like I'll make it earlier.

If you are paying for your own Qantas Club then getting to Gold will save you some money too. Plus Gold status is well above QC now under the 'enhanced' programme.

BNE based customers should look at TSV-DRW JASA rather than the Hobart express as its similar positioning costs but better SC value.
