I am a QFF WP flying on a BA16/BA12 in Y to London Heathrow next week. I will be arriving at Heathrow's Terminal 3 and want to freshen up before heading into town. I also need to kill a few hours before I can check into my accommodation as the flight arrives at 5 am.

Researching my arrivals lounge options it looks like the T3 American Airlines arrivals lounge is off-limits to me. However the T5 BA arrivals lounge looks more promising: British Airways - Arrivals lounges

Arrivals lounges are available at London Heathrow Terminal 5 [...] for:

  • First and Club World customers.
  • Gold Executive Club members who have arrived on a British Airways longhaul flight. Due to capacity restrictions, guests will not be permitted to use these lounges.

As QF WP is equivalent to BA Gold Executive Club in that they are both OneWorld Emerald, will I be able to use the BA T5 arrivals lounge?

If it makes a difference, I booked the flight through Expedia and the return legs are on QF. There is a single booking code for all legs and the BA and the QF systems have details of both outbound and inbound flights.

Apologies if this seems like a a topic that's been covered in the past, but the various threads that exist are either slightly different to my situation or are quite old and therefore out of date. For example I was quite excited when I found one that pointed me to News - oneworld ("Both American Airlines and British Airways will open the doors of their Arrivals Lounges at London Heathrow, in Terminals 5 and 3, to Emerald tier cardholders in any oneworld airline frequent flyer programme landing on either airline's transatlantic flights, regardless of in which cabin they flew.") before I noticed it was over two years old. Various articles on the web (such as London Heathrow Airport Airline Lounges) also appear to be out of date.

Unfortunately, your chances of accessing the BA Arrivals lounge is near-zero.

There are one or two threads on here where this is discussed and it seems that, probably up until BA's move to T5, you'd probably have been okay. But no more.

Arrivals lounges generally are not part of the oneworld lounge access rules and each airline who has Arrivals lounges have their own rules. There is even some conjecture as to a WP flying J or F on QF into LHR would gain access. To top it off, the relationship between QF and BA nowadays is probably only marginally better than that between Joyce and Dixon.

By all means try but I'm confident you'll be turned away.

As bad as all that? Ah well. Thanks for the reply.

I haven't looked into this recently. WP used to get access on JSA flights, but I am also unsure where this stands now. See if you can find a recent version of the card BA uses for the lounge dragons that denotes who gets access - with pictures of each OW airlines FF cards and status levels. It has been posted a few times on here and FT.

Not sure if you will even get to try. I am pretty sure the arrivals lounge is inside the customs zone and you need a t5 boarding pass to get in there.

Its a BA thing. Look at the CX rules for their arrivals in honkers....includes OWE.

Thats why I dont fly BA and a CX fan, amongst other factors

Reviving an old thread with pretty simalar question. I will be arriving at LHR terminal 5 on a Finair code shared BA flight in bussiness class. With that and QF WP status will that get me into the arrivals lounge?

I think the answer will be no. Is the flight from HEL?
