Just a quick gday

signed up just to pick up little tips and tricks and get any helpful advice i can really!

started in the points earning game in late 2010. Currently just in the qantas program, earning points with a westpac platinum plus card, everyday rewards card and through optus.

Recently booked an any seat award from Perth (where i live) to Santiago Chilie for october/november. Cost about 147,000 and 180 in cash. Plus ive booked a few partner flights on LAN to get me around there.

Over the last week or so ive been considering changing from qantas to singapore krisflyer and changing my westpac platinum plus card to the krisflyer platinum cc. I prefer singapore as a better airline, they have better reach through star alliance and as i wil mostly try to use points for international trips. Im not a huge points earner and not a massive massive traveller either but i try where i can! :) With krsflyer not requiring as many points to get award bookings seems to be a better option for me. Held out from channging as i dont want to rush in buts each day im closer! i usually just fly economy

just had a trip to sydney, got two trips to singapore plus the south american flights coming up, so even if do change im gonna be left with about 70,000 points to burn. i will still keep my everyday rewards and optus account earning me qantas points and just using them when required/have enough. Look forward to reading the forums.

Thanks guys

juts singed up for the westpac krisflyer platinum card, so im going for krisflyer miles now rather then qantas. ill keep my westpac qantas platinum card until just before renewal in dec. Looking forward to finding advice on the best way to earn miles with SQ and also advice for when flying and booking with them.

possibly looking at a trip to monaco for the f1s next year so we will see what i can dig up on a trip there!

Citi would be a place to review for a Visa that can get you sign on points and a fair earning rate to Kris points. I think their business card can earn 0.833 points per dollar.
Please read the "Never give up " thread on Citibank and make sure you are ready for the application challenges.
SQ has been brilliant for international as you can go to Singapore without back tracking then on to Europe , North America or Asia.
