To the rest of you, you can add my name to the list of newcomers disappointed at the arrogance of the established in-crowd and abusive posts I have received in such as short term of membership, including being likened to Tony Handcock and the blatantly sexist remarks...:evil:

My complaints to mods about these incidents were not appropriately resolved.

i have tried repeatedly to PM the mods to arrange for my account to be disabled - hence this post - but for some reason this facility does not appear to be working for me.

That's your cue moderators no doubt to delete this post and to please disable the account so you can go back to nurturing the egos of your in-crowd

Thankyou for your contributions, albeit briefly. i have read some of your contributions, ok so you are not an Alan Jones fan, we accept that.

There are some really passionate people on this forum, which adds to emotional dynamics at times, however the spin off is some of the best advice you'll ever receive.

If I pulled up stumps every time I felt ignored, abused, misunderstood, whatever I would have achieved very little in my life.......

There have a some great theatrics in departing this forum, also so great returns....Ok ....so its ok to have a peek every now and then...no harm, even if you want to return.

Surely the comparison to Tony Hancock could only have been a compliment?

I don't think you were compared to TonyHancock, I have only just found the relevant thread. I think you got caught up in a few long running jokes about being a DYKWIA. I don't believe there was any intent to insult you. As a newcomer it is sometimes difficult to pick up when a long standing poster is being ironic or humourous. It has become a bit of a longstanding joke that i am a self proclaimed DYKWIA and the joke was aimed, quite rightly at me i believe.

it would be a shame for you to leave the forum. Differing opinions are valuable to a site like this. Meeting people face to face at the events is a great way to see beyond the posts.

Give it another go, AFF is alright, and when you get to know the "long timers" you'll see there not a bad bunch.

To put all of this in the correct perspective.

I sent a PM to the OP at 9:42pm last night that the offered to try and resolve the situation or if necessary to delete the account. There was no response to the PM until this post today.

I checked the OP's account and the option of sending PM's to admin and mods was always available and was not disabled as the OP seemed to think. Their complaints were addressed but as usual we do not state in public what is or is not done and how things are addressed.

The disappointing thing is that the OP is well known to me and this could easily have been resolved with good communication.
