Hi All,

I am writing - not my first thread but probably second - but there have only been a few to say thank you to the community, I have been reading AFF as a member for 5 years and probably 3 years more before I registered.

Learning how to gain frequently flyer points from credit card sign on bonuses, burning and churning, buying flights from Expedia Brazil, utilise JASA’s during double status credit periods to KTA from BNE for 800 SC and being Platinum within 2 months of my Qantas anniversary.

Over the years I have flown Qantas F from LAX (true spirit, only one redemption on each aircraft, so me into SYD and my partner into MEL, flown QF4 from HNL in J and also BNE-HKG on the refitted A330 last year. The crazy – being taking the USD444 fares last July for a 3 day weekend in LAX via SYD to use the Flounge’s and gain a few points.

These have all been wonderful experiences.

Our true flight goals will happen next year due to banking points and also eeking every last mile – along with a cruise in-between and from what I have learnt here:

Using United Miles by just last week registering for their Frequent Flyer program Saturday and redeeming Monday – TG in J BNE-BKK on their 787 for $825 each.

Flying BKK-DOH-AUH on QR on their A380 in F to DOH and then onto Abu Dhabi in an A320 for $215 each plus 78,000 QFFP each and

Returning FCO-DXB-(sin)-MEL-SYD-AKL-BNE on EK on their A380 in F with the Mel-Syd leg on a QF A320 for $810 and 192,000 QFF each.

I’m not saying the is the cheapest itinerary or I have taken value to the n’th degree, but as two Professional’s working in the corporate world, being able to fly First and Business class round the world is something that would not have been possible without the knowledge gained in these forums.

We are only in our 30’s so thank you to all who contribute, as I know my travelling has been better from all I have learnt.

Thank you again,
michaelk
