Hi everyone,
I've been lurking these forums for a while under a different login, but seeing as I am posting this from the Virgin lounge in Sydney on what really is a status run (no matter how I justify it), I think it's time I got involved!
It all began with a rewards credit card, the thought that I could do something with those points...that's how I found this place. I was happy just to accumulate points and use them towards flights. I was a poor uni student at the time and didn't care much for frequent flyer status.
Now I am working as a teacher and taking regular holidays (that's not to say teachers have it easy, my goodness its hard work!), so I don't rate as a frequent flyer as such, but I've been on planes often enough to notice the guys zipping to the front of the line, and going to lounges etc. But even that wasn't enough to sway me. It was only after getting a flexi ticket, and getting such a good seat (compared to the back of the plane with a cheap ticket) that I decided I needed to get gold.
So here I am, Sydney-Canberra, visiting my sister overnight and back to Sydney. Business flight bought at a bargain price, and it will get me over the line to gold.
Anyway its time to get boarding...I hope to involve myself a bit more as time goes on!
