thanks guys, I am shopping around for some QF flights to Europe this July and trying to work out whats the best way to find a ticket that is upgradeable at lowest economy price if anyone has good tips, please give me a shout !

Look at carriers other than Qantas. You may find Premium Economy or Business at a price less than the Qantas fare for upgradeable ticket class. Points upgrade's with QF are a lottery, just like TattsLotto. And much much harder for 2 people traveling together. Or look for award flights.

thanks but I have not been able to find a premium economy ticket with any other carrier within the upgrade able qantas fare. Not even close.

ie. Qantas fare is $3.2k vs cheapest PE $5.7k which is massive difference.
