Yup, really looking forward to that, but travelling around aus is surprising costly. Hence the need for status to make trips as cheap and comfortable as possible.

I, like you am a temporary soul based in Oz. It is sadly true that most travel in Oz are a tad pricey, but there's the sales ever so now and then that pops up once in a while that can provide a cheap alternative to status. Achieving status is also a good thing here as well!

I am finding the info on the site more difficult than Uni. My god my brain is about to explode and I have been reading for only a couple of hours. Really looking forward to sales time so I can explore this vast landscape. And yes definately my aim to get status with Qantas and Virgin after I gain enough knowledge.

Oh what a coincidence! Im at ANU studying a bachelor of science degree! Im sure you will gain status fast with all the offers on QF/VA.

Yea CBR tickets are usually expensive, during sales e.g. SYD can get as cheap as $70 on VA and $79 on QF. This is less the requisite credit card fees of course, which would cost a rough estimate of $7.70.
