Hi everyone!

just another long time lurker that finally decided to join up. Just looking to maximise what I can get with flying! Currently 5 SC off NZ *S

planning a trip to toronto at the end of the year too from AKL so I'm on the hunt for good bargains which maximise miles! Then have to go to vancouver next may too for medical school electives so lots of travelling ahead!

on a seperate note, airpoints is not exactly a good programme for free flights and I've learnt that a bit late. Only reason why I'm sucking up for the last 5SC is to get an upgrade voucher and some lounge passes. Then I'm gonna change programmes anyways. Need to find a decent * programme now bah. Looking at AC Aeroplan right now heh. That or BMI

NZJuniorDoc,

Welcome to AFF.

WE do talk to K1W1's here most of the time :!:

Air NZ may not be the best airpoints program, but you may want to think about changing. If you are based in NZ and mainly flying ANZ but do not get to gold or gold elite with another program, what rewards will you get. No lounge access and limited recognition.
It might be a better idea to stick with ANZ and join koru club. Most hospitals have a corporate rate and you should be able to join up paying the corporate rate of $445. This gives you access to lounges, better seat selection, especially on trans tasman, and a few other benefits.
As your career progresses you will prob do more travel using CME and should attain gold quickly.

Welcome NZJuniorDoc

Kiwis are most welcome... There are a few of us around here who reside in Australia.

I do the Trans Tasman many time each year and I have stuck with QF.

I would probably prefer the Air New Zealand 777 between AKL - MEL as the Business hard product is better than the QF on this route. However, for myself the Platinum benefits are better for me with QF.

Once again welcome.

Boss agree wholeheartedly. Have flown ANZ 777 J and it is great (IFE not so flash) service is genuine relaxed kiwi. however all plats benefits outweigh short flight. Also close to LTG as an added advantage.

cheers
