Hello from Newcastle

G'day everyone, I joined this group recently after exploring the threads as a guest for a little while. I've flown extensively internationally pre-Covid with various airlines but have only just resumed OS travel with trips May/June to NZ and Singapore. Interesting to note the changes since pre-Covid days. Not at all happy with Qantas' but I'm preserving my Gold FF status with them for now.

Welcome! ..... We are flying Qantas business SYD to SIN then SIN to LHR... are you not happy with their service etc....Have flown the route with, Virgin, Qatar, BA, Emirates and also Etihad.... my hopes are high that it will be a good flight... are you Newcastle too!

I flew SYD-SIN Qantas Business QF81 on 31 May just gone and it was one of the most enjoyable flights ever. There was a very good cabin vibe that the crew worked in with very nicely. Very attentive, relaxed and good humoured. Brilliant service (especially Daniel from Uruguay).
Returned SIN-SYD QF82 Business on 6 June (night flight). Crew keen to feed us fast and have us go to sleep. Very disappointing in comparison to the SYD-SIN sector. But we did land safely, on time and our baggage came too ;-)

Ok that's great to know!.. were you happy with the seating? I am 24A .. A380...couldn't get my choice of seat as it had been taken... some of our friends said the foot space was not the best when laying flat.

Yes I was. Forward of the wing for photo purposes. I also found the space for my feet had to be worked into as the seat flattened out but once I was asleep it wasn't a nuisance. The only irritation for me was that the flight maps refused to load even when my unit was rebooted. The little bench beside me with USB and power sockets was very convenient.

Excellent! I will stop stressing and look forward to the seating situ!.... flying out Dec 17 so the aircraft is very full... would have loved a more forward seat.... We booked in January and they were all taken! ....Cheers for the response
