Hi there,
I have generally stuck to FT but thought I needed to broaden one's horizons and join AFF.
I (and the family) have moved (again) to Wellington, NZ and hope to settle for good.
Traditionally I have an long term association with BA and am currently Gold with them, During my previous years in NZ I made it to Air NZ Gold Elite and stayed there for a few years on predominantly leisure travel.

I will no doubt be travelling domestically in NZ on NZ, but doubt I will get to GE on that travel pattern alone so was interested in either Koru membership or look into perhaps the Velocity programme.

Also of interest will be a conversion to QFF, I have credited a couple of flights to them but am only at 120SC's so will be actively looking at cheap status runs (ala BA tier point runs that I have done several times in the US!).

I hope to stick around and look forward to gleaning lots of useful information.

Cheers
dj

Thanks for the welcomes!
Yep, I managed to convince my wife that we should come back and give it another go (both British and last here between 2007 and 2011).
My other claim to fame was that I managed to visit every airnz operated airport in new zealand during a one year period last time! They have added Paraparaumu since then so will have to tick that off the list....
I was quite tempted to have a go at the QFF domestic network too - wife says no way!!!
Perhaps stick to the last few AirNZ international destinations I haven't done then..

I would just like to echo my warmest greetings to our new friend in Wellington !
Certainly a great city to be based in.

The Weta Cava ( aka: Lord of the rings) & Tee Papa are real gems to Welly, amongst so many others .

And if you do partake in a QF status run & some point in the near future, don't forget to swing by Melbourne, direct on the daily Jetconnect service, I'm sure a few of us here can easily be convinced for an AFF meet up.

I was in Melbourne last week for three days enjoying the sun (not too hot then!) and took the MEL-WLG service on Thursday.

Any pointers / threads to read about the status runs? I presume that USA is the land of plenty in terms of SC's? Also trying to get my head around JSA or something similar any good threads to read on this?

These threads has tones & tones of info on the JASA booking process..... Certainly a bible for many, including myself on QF Status Credit accrual.

The LOTFAP trips flying with with our North American friends are a firm favourite as well as you quite correctly pointed out..... Never done one myself , but plenty to stories are shared on here on the various " Trip reviews" threads.

Welcome to AFF.

The USA instant upgrade fare to of fares can be found with *A ("Non refundable First") - I have done MR's for AirNZ "Elite" status on UA and US - not as rich a bounty as can be gathered with AA for QFF but relatively lucrative none the less.

Personally, I have basically given Airpoints the boot as the earnings and overall program benefits have been drastically attenuated for a Non NZ resident.
