hello everyone!!! I'm Cindy. I looked at this site for a while now. I need tips how to fly cheap from Perth to Germany, preferable Berlin,as I go and visit my family at least once or twice a year.and as you all know, with no big experience in how to book, you just get the expensive fares.so if you don't mind,I'm open to suggestions at all times.thanks in advance, looking forward to hearing from you.have a great weekend!!!

Hello Cindy,

Friends of ours did AirAsia from Perth to London for $658 return so even though that is not Berlin that airline would be worth looking into for modest priced tickets to Europe.

Oh wow!!!!! I never thought that's possible!!! Well, thank you very much for that hint.I'll check that out!!! That would make such a difference!!! Thank you very much

Here is something worth looking at........

Virgin Blue Perth-coughet return ~$773
or
Jetstar PER-SIN-Bangkok return ~ $617

Then
Air Berlin coughet or Bangkok - Berlin return ~ $910

The Jetstar flight connects well with the Air Berlin flight.

Welcome to AFF CindyC!

When it come to airfares we are all after the best deal possible. The are some good suggestions mentioned already.

Do take note though that the cheaper airfares are usually associated with Low Cost Carriers who may not necessarily have the most comfortable aircraft or seats and will usually only be for very basic inclusions and you will need to pay extra for luggage, assigning seat, food and beverage and sometimes even using airport check-in. Personally I would rather spend the extra $300-$400 and go with a full service carrier.

JohnK I totally agree with you on LCC versus a full service carrier but if it gets down to not going on account of the price then the Low Cost Carrier is a great option.
Other friends went to LAX for $1,000 out of Sydney return and they both spent their savings big time shopping until they could not afford to save any more money.
Now if you have a larger shadow than the average Australian you may find some of the long haul seats to be a bit squeezy so that could influence the decision.
I have done a Jet* flight that went for one hour and no that would not work for me for 20 hours of flying time.
I would go with the one carrier so there is an obligation to get you there even when flights run off schedule.

I just had a little chuckle at 'larger shadow' - it's a very diplomatic way of putting it, I'm going to use that one! =)
But yes, having a larger shadow myself, I don't think I could manage a LCC all the way to Europe. Although if cost really is important, there's always the option of purchasing seats in the exit rows, which can make a huge difference (no pun intended).

Yes so true. Must not forget there are those that cannot afford to travel and save every last penny for that overseas holiday.

To all you guys.....thank you all so very much for your replies!! My first day on here and you're all do nice!! I can't really say,it's a holiday going home every year.just have to go and see the parents!! I'll definately check all the options you suggested!! Thank you all!!
