Howdy guys,

After reading this site for the longest amount of time, I've decided to register.

I'm not a business flyer or anything, just a frequent purveyor in airline travel for pleasure and fun. Heck I earned QF Gold status alone from holidaying last year! There is something about flying and travelling in general, which I never have lost the joy for and I suppose, why I do it alot. I guess I am just addicted to the smell of the tarmac!

I'm also a Rewards Programme junkie, having earnt Gold with Qantas just from holidays alone (yeah I kind of took a few overseas holidays last year - but you only got one life to live - so you might as well enjoy it!).

I suppose helping out was alot of flights with AA last year in my US holiday which helped bump up those status credits! In fact I am majorly crush that one inter-European flight in my upcoming European vacation cannot earn me any Status Credits. Unfortunately the only FinnAir and AirBerlin flights for the route in question (Berlin - Helsinki) where too late in the day to make a (pretty important!) connecting flight (and I wasn't really wanting to play roulette going via Dusseldorf), so in the end I had to book... Lufthansa. Naturally I signed up for Miles & More, I just doubt i'll ever use it much!

Cheers, Robert

Hi Robert Qld,

Welcome to AFF. :D

Thank you everybody for your kind words.

I qualified for Gold at the end of April after being silver forever (I basically said 'screw it' and took a weekend away/status run to Darwin to get me over the line).

I just can only hope the Gold Card arrives before the 23rd of May when I jet off to Europe. I have a PP through my AMEX but I really want to try out the BA lounges in LHR without arguing with their staff to let me in!
