I have been a member for a while but have not posted on this site until now. I am very excited because I have just booked business class seats for my husband and I from Brisbane to London, then back from Paris to Brisbane in September, October, using US airways dividend miles that I purchased late last year on the recommendation of a friend (also a member). It sounded too good to be true, but I took the risk and now I have the flights booked. I also then booked a flight for my mother using the same means. She actually has a first class leg as well though that cost a little more.
I am hoping that this system remains in place but I understand there may be changes as US Airways has merged with American Airlines.
Anyway, I am very happy with my purchase and thank this site for all the wonderful tips which I am learning to find. I just have to learn to decipher all the acronyms!

Welcome Barcky1.
Yes, those USDM redemptions really are spectacular value for premium cabin travel, glad to hear you've made use of them!

And thanks for that link Hvr, I didn't know it existed, very handy. :)

AFF has taught me so much already and there is lots more to learn.

I also did not know Admin's "New Members" thread existed - a very handy tool thanks Hvr.

Thank you everyone. I wondered if anyone would notice my note. I look forward to a great association. Also, that "new members" link looks for very interesting reading. Thanks again.
