This subforum did not exist when I joined, and I have been a little slow in introducing myself as a result, so figured it would be appropriate to make my 30000'th post one that explains a little bit about me.
I have always had an interest in planes, radio communications and computers. I have been lucky to have spent most of my working life in fields that matched those interests, including Search and Rescue, Air Traffic Control as well as working for one of the biggest names in IT.
I have lived in quite a few places across Australia including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane and thanks to having roles in the last twenty years that involved travel, can hop in a car and navigate without a map at many Australian cities.
I am still an avgeek at heart and enjoy following the developments in the industry. I am active on other forums both in the IT/Telco space and travel/frequent flyer.
Since joining I have seen the forum grow exponentially in terms of its members and the topics being discussed, to the point where it is impossible to be across all the opportunities on offer. Without AFF, many of those opportunities would have been ships sailing by in the dark for me. So while this post is about me introducing myself, it is really me also saying thank you to all that have contributed to this forum for the time I have been here. Thank you, your contributions have been appreciated whether it's been one post or thousands.
