Good afternoon all

Apologies if this isn't the right thread but I'm trying to confirm business class seat availability for Melb-Dubai on 23 March on the 0615 flight EK409.

There were seats available (up to three) and they seemed to have vanished between refreshing the screen.

Regards

Thanks mate - I think I'm the architect of my own error as I took the booking thru to the payment page for my entire party, and then when I went back to split it into two (as one person has to come back early), they'd all vanished.

I'm hoping (if this is a thing) that the Classic Seats are still there but are being 'held' in a weird reserved state as I didn't pay, and that (again, if this is a thing), they'll be released tomorrow/after 24 hours.

If not, eh, I'll leave a day early on 22/3.

Thanks again!

Just reminding you that you cant have EK flights on a One World Award as they are not a member of One World Alliance.

Hi Lynda - thanks for this. My flights are all booked but this might explain why I couldn't do a Dubai-Rome leg with Emirates (that said, we got the Business Class seats out of Melbourne - Dubai on Emirates, so I'll take that win!

Cheers

No, and this is going OT to this threat - it just means there is likely no availability to FCO. Your reward would be classed as a QF Partner reward booking with EK as a partner. However, it will not fall under the 318k OWA reward as this thread discusses, as EK is not a member of OW (As Lynda noted)

There was an F award too,

Funnily enough, I'm flying MEL-SIN-DXB-FCO on 24 March on EK on a Qantas F award (complete with 3.25AM departure from MEL... ooof). It's a slow boat, taking 44 hours, but this means two QF flounge visits in MEL and SIN, two showers on the A380 and eight hours in the DXB EK flounges. It'll be hard, but I'm sure I'll cope...

My tip is that, with respect to availability for DXB-FCO, I strongly suggest using first, the Emirates site (to find the award using Skywards) and the multi-city tool (to confirm it's bookable on Qantas). My award wasn't able to be found on Qantas but I could see it on Emirates, so I plugged the individual sectors into the multi-city tool on Qantas and there it was. I couldn't book it online (as the website kept crashing, but we got there in the end).

Seats.aero is showing first class availability from DXB to FCO on 23 and 24 March, so it should be bookable through Qantas, although the MEL-DXB F awards that were there a couple of days ago looked to have been snapped up.

Uh SIN QF F lounge will not be open for the early EK405 to DXB. It does not open til 3pm.
