Help How do I save 5000 points !

Hi all,

Is there anyway one can be spared the 5000 point cancellation fee for changing flight bookings from one day to another on an upgraded fare! I was able to secure upgrades to a work ticket from KTA to MEL via Perth on the Wed the 17 August. But I have needed to extend till 19th Friday and all fares are Full Y on this day so they can't charge a change fee only. Therefore no upgradable seats either (not via website anyway.) So I have reluctantly agreed to the change but will loose 5000 QFF points as a cancel fee and they will put the rest of my QFF points back to the account about 18000.
