Hi
I was lucky enough to book 2 F seats London to Melbourne in May and now looking to get to Europe (preferably Italy Milan or Rome ) in business around April 10/11/12/13/14 so that would give us a month to get around. I have phoned AA and no luck at all for those dates and being Plat have called Qantas to see if any direct flights or stop overs for a night or so on our way to Italy. They even put a request in but computer says No
The best I can come up with at the moment on Qantas is :

Melbourne to Paris on 19/4 CX but would then need to travel back to Italy - not a big deal really but leaving later than I wanted

Or

Melbourne to Singapore on the 11/4 and Singapore to Milan on the 15/4 ( have been to Singapore before so don't need this many days

I have looked at all the other routings as far as I could but don't have access to Expert Flyer or Nexus

I have enough AA points to travel J or in F but just no availability
Do any of the experts out there have any ideas on where else I can look or different routings, I don't mind a straight through flight or a stop over for a few nights somewhere

Would like to get it booked now, I am not much good at waiting to see if availability comes up.:)

Thanks in advance

Keep your MEL-SIN flights on 11/4. Then purchase One-Way Business Class seats SIN-Rome on Sri Lankan Airlines for AU $946 on 13/4.

Just an update that I managed to move the AA Award return flights and still get F from London on May 18th QF10 and found seats MEL-MXP with Emirates on the 20/4..in J (using QF points) .so pretty happy with that.
Now looking for best seats
currently have EK409 Seats 9A and 9B and then 9E and PF on EK91

on QF10 returning I think I have 1K and 2F - I am reading the threads on this and might need to move - any advice please.

Thanks now to the planning for the trip - very excited.

I would have booked BRU/CDG/FRA etc. - LHR-DXB-MEL instead from LHR to avoid the prohibitive APD taxes.
