Am trying to book a two week hire of a standard car (Commodore) out of ADL. I'm a Five Star Rewards member and when I just try and book under that banner without any discount codes the cost is $675. Then I found a 10% discount for weekly hire so I tried that through the link on the page. Now it's $720? Some discount.
I did a Hertz survey last week and they gave me a PC (code) for my next rental. Of course it wouldn't accept that one.
There's a webpage with a heap of codes to use - it's currently down, or might be down for good - but I've used some of them before to compare and they also vary widely.
Went over to Avis and they want $813 - they never offer any discounts even though I've rented from them for years. Can I get a worldwide discount code for Avis and use that? Does it make any difference?
I tend to stick with these two companies for my hires. I've got some great deals in the past going through third party sites but this time I'm not getting as good a price as the one I mentioned first. Am sure there's always a better price out there.
