Hertz points expiry

I'm still not travelling and want to make sure that my Hertz points don't expire.

Does anyone know what Hertz is doing regarding points expiry? It seems that I have to rent a car to reset the expiry timer, is there an easier / cheaper way?

Given their poor attitude to status extensions, it's probably a case of too bad!
