Hi

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with points being posted from Hertz? Rented a couple of weeks ago and looks like it posted 1 point per $ instead of 3. It was a regular postpaid booking - just checking there's no hidden Ts & Cs I should be aware of!

Thanks

Was it within Australia?

If overseas then it is just 880 points per rental.

I don't know the specifics of your rental, but I've read elsewhere on here the points earn is only on the base rental rate, not on any taxes, surcharges, insurances, or addons (which can usually make up most of the rental price).
This could explain it potentially?

This. E.g. If your total rental cost was $50 for 1 day from a non-airport location without excess reduction, you would earn points on approx. $35 of base cost excluding GST, registration fee and admin fee, giving you approx. 100 points. As you can see, it effectively works out to be 2 points per total $.

If the same rental was from an airport with Max cover, total cost would be about $100, effectively giving you 1 point per $.

The points earn has been a mystery to me.

As I queried it once and was told that tax/surcharges was not included in points earn.

Also I had a accident once and there was no points on the excess paymnet.

I have the attitude closer enough is good enough.

I damaged an Avis car a few weeks ago and was expecting a nice little bonus point haul on the $1,100 excess payment, but was disappointed to find that was not the case!

I don't think rental mobs are too enthusiastic about rewarding you for damaging their property.........

When you put it like that, you're correct! I guess I was hoping that there might have been a small silver lining to the cost and inconvenience of damaging a rental car!
