Hi All
I stumbled on this site back in 2005 (wow, 6 years ago. It seems like yesterday!) and have loved it ever since.
A bit about myself. I live on the Gold Coast and work in the finance area. Unfortunately this role does not offer much opportunity to travel, as opposed to my previous role in Sydney, where I travelled to a different capital city about once a fortnight.
I can't say I have always loved travelling on planes. I remember my first flight back in 1996 when I was a mere teen, an AN flight between OOL and SYD. I didn't really know what to expect. The concept of getting off the ground and soaring through the air seemed quite foreign to me. However I quickly became acustomed, and was very surprised at the level of service I received onboard. Remember the days when you could say, "Nah, I'm full, I ate on the plane", and it actually meant something more than an cookie or pack of almonds. I remember getting a hot meal, tea or coffee with a small dessert, all served in the 1 hour flight, with the cost of $369 return for the privilege.
I find this site to be very informative, and have witnessed it grow and evolve over the years from what was a frequent flyer earning mad group of punters, to a community forum that gets referred to as an expert source in media. I think this is a great achievement to the administrators. Also congratulations to the release of the iphone app. It is fantastic and keeps me up to date with the ever increasing number of posts (if you don't check the daily, you can easily fall behind!). What makes the forum work is that no question is considered stupid, and every poster is able to express his/her opinion freely without the fear of being berated or ridiculed. May this continue.
Well that's enough for me. Happy posting everyone.
