My name's Caden. I joined this site to take advantage of frequent flyer deals and increase my points. I'm using this with travelhacking.com to see if I can plan a holiday to the US.

Hi and welcome.

What is travel hacking?

Thanks for the welcome. It's a subscription website with tips on how to take advantage of promotions and loop holes in frequent flyer programs to travel at extremely reduced rates. From what I've read people who use it successfully have travelled long haul in business for next to nothing. It seems complex at first, but I figure it's worth a shot if it works (they guarantee 250,000 points earned in one year).

How long have you been a member? US centric?

Hi. I had written a reply but it seems it didn't post.

It is US centric, but it's possible to take advantage of it internationally. The US is much more generous with their points promotions than in Aus. I've only been a member for a couple of weeks. I joined about 3 or 4 airline FF programs, one in each alliance. Hopefully I can earn with other airlines in the one world alliance and transfer to Qantas. I mostly want to fly home to Cairns more often, but I also have a goal- flying to San Diego for Comiccon 2013, in business class, booking only with points. We'll see.

Welcome to AFF!

That is a good goal to have! You will have to get the miles quickly as redemption tickets to the US can be hard to get even 12 months out

I went to the dot com but that’s just a copycat I think, the real one is dot org.

Get Frequent Flyer Miles Without Flying | Travel Hacking Cartel

I imagine it’s basically just a collection of the best deals that are already published everywhere else for free. The founder probably gets his info from FT or MP and then sells it to his membership. Smart business move, but you could do the same for free if you had time on your hands (which I appreciate most don’t).

Welcome to AFF by the way!
