Hi,

Ive checked out AFF many times in the past but never got around to registering. Hubby and I have just moved from Australia to Canada and I am looking at the best way to maintain my QF status without just doing the Canada - Australia run twice a year.

I've noticed on here that people talk about status runs and I am looking for any suggestions about good ones to do throughout North America. We want to check out as much as we can while we are living on this side of the world, so status runs will work perfectly. :)

Hubby doesn't need to worry about his status as he has regular trips back to Oz and will have no problem maintaining his WP status (possibly WP1) but for me it won't be as easy. As our trips back to Australia will also often involve travelling separately in at least one direction, I need to maintain my status keep accessing the lounges while waiting at airports!

Any advice that people can give me would be fantastic!
Thanks!

Considering you need 4 QF flight numbers in your activity each year, they may be the hardest part.

That won't be a problem as we will be going back to Australia at least once a year and we will get 6 QF flight numbers per trip. YYZ - LAX - SYD (or MEL) - PER and return. Unfortunately unless we travel business class this trip alone won't earn me the 600SC to requalify for gold which is why I need to look for easy options to earn those extra SC's.

There are good earning opportunities in north America. Search AFF for KUPP. As noted the 4QF flights are important. Of course if you husband will get to 2400 SC there is always partner gold as a backup.

There are some good options but ex USA.

e.g. YYZ to LAX in First/Business class cost from USD750 one way, but from BUF cost from USD590. Both these can easily earn 200+ SC's one way.

One, more left-field option for you is that as a Platnium 1 member, your husband could bestow Gold membership on you as a spouse ....

Welcome to AFF aQuarius16!

Just note that if your husband earns 2,400 SCs in a year then that is enough for Partner Gold status for you.
